Christmas Donation

Our Christmas donation for Pieta House – Prevention for Suicide & Self-Harm

This year 3A Composites has supported with its christmas donation Pieta House – prevention for suicide & self-harm, a social organisation near its production site in Athlone (Ireland).

In 2006, Pieta House opened its doors in Lucan, County Dublin and since that day they have seen and helped over 30,000 people in suicidal distress or engaging in self-harm and they have established 15 more centres across Ireland to include a further 5 in Dublin, one in Cork, Galway, Kerry, Limerick, Donegal, Tipperary, Waterford, Wexford and Athlone in Co. Westmeath. Pieta House also operates the Suicide Bereavement Counselling centres and provide free counselling, therapy and support to individuals, couples, families, children and work colleagues who have been bereaved by suicide.

From humble beginnings, Pieta House has grown to almost 270 therapists and administration staff and the demand for the service is ongoing. In 2016, almost 6,000 availed of the services of Pieta House. 90 % of all their income comes from fundraising events and donations. As it has been from day one, all services are provided free of charge and their staff are fully qualified and provide a professional one-to-one  therapeutic service for people who are experiencing suicidal ideation, people who have attempted suicide and people who are engaging in self-harm.

Their vision is to see a world where suicide, self-harm and stigma have been replace by hope, self-care and acceptance and their mission is to support people and communities in crisis by providing freely accessible, professional services to all.
